Gu Chuan claimed he was going abroad to start a business, but in reality, he was avoiding Xinke while secretly meeting with Shen Wan. Meanwhile, Xinke was left to face the mocking stares of the guests alone—until Gu Linyuan, the head of the Gu family and Gu Chuan's uncle, stepped forward and married her on the spot.
