Her Vow, His Throne

About Her Vow, His Throne

Princess Shen Qingning, the last heir of a fallen dynasty, was secretly raised by her mentor Shen Yun, burdened with vengeance. Disguised as a man, she roams the martial world as a righteous vigilante. To avenge her murdered sister Luoluo, she infiltrates a brothel to assassinate the tyrannical Prince Heng—only to cross paths with Emperor Zhu Xiao, who is investigating the prince’s treason in disguise. Forced into an unlikely alliance, Zhu Xiao poses as her bodyguard while Qingning adopts the alias "Little Lobster." Their journey is filled with bickering, reluctant trust, and budding affection—complicated further when the spoiled Princess Liang Jing develops an infatuation with Qingning’s male persona, unwittingly pushing the two closer. But Prince Heng’s ambitions run deep. When Qingning’s assassination attempt fails, Liang Jing exposes her true gender and imprisons her. Zhu Xiao risks his life to save her, revealing his imperial identity—turning their partnership into a forbidden bond between monarch and subject. The revelation of Qingning’s royal lineage shatters their trust, while her mentor Shen Yun’s obsession with restoring their dynasty ignites a new conflict. As Prince Heng escapes prison and allies with Yun Que, a remnant of Qingning’s fallen kingdom, old grudges resurface. Qingning and Zhu Xiao must set aside their feud to stop him, with Liang Jing redeeming herself by joining their cause. In the final battle, Shen Yun sacrifices herself for Yun Que, Qingning slays Prince Heng, and Zhu Xiao proves himself a benevolent ruler, easing taxes and bringing peace. Realizing the people’s welfare matters more than vengeance, Qingning abandons her quest to reclaim the throne and vanishes into the martial world. Three years later, she reunites with Zhu Xiao at Apricot Blossom Pavilion, where he offers his empire as a marriage pledge—finally uniting love and duty.
