The Price of Deception

About The Price of Deception

A car accident brings Ethan Song and Mia Han together. For two years, Ethan hides his identity as the heir to a wealthy family, believing Mia to be a genuine woman despite knowing her family’s greed and favoritism toward sons. Determined to marry her, he visits her family to propose—only to face outrageous dowry demands. When he refuses, they threaten to force Mia into an arranged marriage with a rich contractor. Ethan reluctantly agrees, but his grandmother, the family matriarch, discovers he’s selling personal assets to pay the dowry and decides to meet this "good girl" at the engagement party. However, upon hearing about others’ dowries, Mia’s family demands an extra 1 million and insists Ethan marry into their family. Mia, unwilling to stand up for him, pushes all the pressure onto Ethan. Disillusioned, he cancels the engagement and—after relentless harassment—reveals his true identity. Mia’s arrogant brother is humiliated and dragged away, and after Ethan leaves, her parents blame her for everything, beating her in rage. Desperate, Mia begs for another chance but is rejected—until she receives an unexpected job offer from Ethan’s company. Determined to reclaim the life she lost, she takes the job to win him back. Now hardened, Mia resorts to any means necessary—stealing a coworker’s project to get face time with Ethan. When exposed in a meeting, she pleads for his forgiveness, even using an old "reconciliation coupon" and later faking a pregnancy. But as her lies unravel, Ethan sees the truth: she’s not the woman he loved. His final words? "I never want to see you again.
