About The Lies We Keep

Upon learning she is pregnant, Lixia is also diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Carrying the baby to term would worsen her condition, but she decides to proceed, hoping her child will keep her husband, Xavier from being alone after her death. To push him away, she stages an affair with her friend Sean deliberately provoking Xavier into divorcing her. Three months later, Lila risks her life to rescue her younger brother Leon who is trapped in a massive debt. To her shock, the men holding Leon hostage work for Xavier—revealing that he is actually the heir of a powerful elite family, who had once given up his inheritance to marry her. To save Leon, Lila pleads desperately. Xavier initially intends to humiliate her but ultimately softens. However, the stress triggers premature labor, and Sean rushes her to the hospital, with Xavier secretly following. At the hospital, Lila encounters Xavier and his fiancée, Fang Mia, leading to a tense confrontation. The doctor accidentally reveals Lila’s pregnancy, and she claims the baby is Sean’s. Enraged, Xavier leaves—only to later propose to her again, despite their unresolved conflict. Heartbroken, Lila cruelly rejects him once more. As her health deteriorates, Sean and Leon urge Lila to see a renowned specialist, Jason .However, during the visit, she unexpectedly runs into Xavier, who coldly mocks her and Sean, even demanding Sean kneel in apology. Devastated, Lila flees, nearly exposing her medical records. Working as a wedding dress designer, Lila is forced to design a gown for Xavier and Mia, who cruelly taunts her until Lila collapses from exhaustion. Xavier, alarmed, rushes her to the hospital, where her doctor friend Dr. Hannah —Sean’s wife—nearly reveals the truth but is stopped by Lila. Suspicious, Xavier investigates and discovers Hannah is married to Sean. Assuming Lila is being deceived, he confronts Sean, demanding he break up with her. When Lila witnesses this, she intervenes, driving Xavier away with harsh words. As Xavier and Mia’s wedding approaches, Mia cruelly strips Lila of her last hope for survival. On their wedding day, Lila goes into labor but the baby is born with thalassemia, requiring an urgent bone marrow transplant. Weak and desperate, Lila crashes the wedding, begging Xavier to get tested. Though he despises her, he abandons Mia at the altar and rushes to the hospital—where he finally learns the child is his. Overjoyed, Xavier begs for reconciliation, but Lila, knowing she is dying, pushes him away to spare him future grief. After he leaves, Mia nearly kills Lila in a rage, but Xavier returns just in time. As Lila is wheeled into surgery, the full truth is revealed to Xavier by Sean and Hannah. Three years later, their child has grown, and Lila finally wakes up from her coma. The family is reunited, living happily ever after.
