About Rise Against the Wind — I Am the Protagonist
Lin Wan was a top talent at a leading investment bank with a promising career ahead of her. To support her lover Zheng Nan’s startup dream, she gave up her high-paying job without hesitation, bringing 50,000 yuan in dowry to build a business with him from scratch. Over ten years, she took charge of all the housework, cared for her in-laws, and raised their children, keeping the family running. Behind the scenes, she quietly connected with suppliers, begged for raw materials, enforced strict quality control, maintained core client relationships, and built industry networks. With her expertise and dedication, she transformed a failing small factory into the leading local building materials company. When their business reached its peak and their family seemed perfect, Zheng Nan lost his head over fame and fortune. He cheated on her with a mistress named Zhou Ping, moved the other woman into their home, and forced Lin Wan to leave with nothing. He forged records showing the company was deeply in debt, trying to strip her of everything rightfully hers.
