Linda's father, Lin Feng, suddenly has a brain hemorrhage and is in critical condition. Ethan, her husband, rushes him to Linda's private hospital. But Linda, trying to help her first love, Kevin, with his headache, calls away the doctor who was treating Lin Feng. She also mistakenly thinks the patient Ethan brought in is his poor aunt, so she cuts the power to the operating room and lets an intern perform the surgery on her dad. Unfortunately, this results in her father's death.After Lin Feng dies, Ethan handles the funeral, while Linda is out partying with Kevin. Before he dies, Lin Feng asks Ethan to keep his death a secret to avoid it affecting the company’s stock price. Ethan tries to tell Linda about the funeral, but she still thinks the person who died is Ethan's poor relative. She shows up to the funeral in a wedding dress with Kevin and mocks Ethan, even pushing him to divorce her. After the divorce, they set fire to the coffin. It’s only then that Linda realizes her father is the one who died.When the lawyer reads out the inheritance, it turns out that Ethan is the heir, not Linda. She’s shocked. Ethan leaves, and Linda and Kevin immediately start plotting against him. At a shareholders' meeting, Linda and Kevin present fake evidence accusing Ethan of causing her father's death. Just as things are about to go south for Ethan, Lin Feng shows up alive—it turns out he faked his death. He exposes Linda and Kevin for their betrayal and clears Ethan's name.However, Kevin convinces Linda to go after the family fortune and they plan to drug her father. But Kevin’s true colors show as he completely turns evil, kidnaps both Linda and Ethan, and in the end, Linda and Kevin both meet a tragic end together.
