About Reborn in 1982: Not One of My Daughters Will Be Lost
This heart‑warming tale follows Tang Jiancheng, a young rural man of the 1980s, who gets a second chance at life. He transforms from a muddle‑headed husband into a devoted, loving father to his girls, leading his whole family out of poverty toward a happy life. Tang Jiancheng’s first life was a complete tragedy. Influenced by the traditional preference for sons over daughters, he drank and gambled heavily, abused his wife Liu Fangfang, and resented her for giving birth to three daughters in a row. When their youngest daughter Yaomei died of a high fever, instead of grieving, he blamed his wife. His second daughter sustained a permanent disability from his beatings, and his eldest daughter developed severe psychological trauma out of fear. Overwhelmed by despair, Liu Fangfang took her own life. In his old age, Tang Jiancheng lay alone in bed with no one to visit him, and passed away drowned in remorse and guilt. Fate grants him a do‑over. He is reborn back in 1982, ten days after Yaomei’s birth. On that pouring‑rain day, his mother is about to abandon the baby girl. Tang Jiancheng rushes forward and holds the infant tightly in his arms. He swears from that moment on: in this life, he will never fail his wife or his three daughters. Reborn, Tang Jiancheng is a changed man. Drawing on memories from his past life, he finds a wild boar knocked unconscious by falling rocks in a mountain gully, giving his family hot fresh meat for the very first time. He uses smoke‑driving tactics to catch eleven badgers, and sells them for a good price through his new friend Huang Tianyue. He buys candy and new clothes for his daughters and takes them to the county town to broaden their horizons. Gone is the father who once kept his girls locked indoors out of shame. When villagers mock him for “having no sons and losing face”, he smiles and replies: “I have three little fairies, and my heart is full of joy.
