About Phoenix Home

Wan Qiqi was a healer who made her living gathering herbs and treating the sick. One day, while foraging in the mountains, she stumbled upon Xiao Jingyu, a man afflicted with a potent lust-inducing poison. Bound by her healer’s oath, she saved him without question and slipped away before dawn—never expecting that single night would leave her with child. Defying society’s scorn, Wan Qiqi bore the boy alone, naming him Wan Xiaobao, and raised him amidst endless whispers and judgment. Little did she know the man she’d rescued was none other than Xiao Jingyu, the reigning Sacred Emperor and ruler of the realm. Years later, while accompanying the Empress Dowager on an incognito tour, Xiao Jingyu encountered Wan Xiaobao and recognized the imperial birthmark marking the boy as his own. Overwhelmed, he immediately declared the child Crown Prince and sent his most trusted aides to bring Wan Qiqi to the palace, determined to make amends. Fate, however, had other plans. By sheer coincidence, Wan Qiqi entered the palace as a candidate for Eastern Palace maid—unrecognized by Xiao Jingyu, who had never seen her face clearly that fateful night. As they spent days together, the Emperor found himself falling for her gentle strength and resolved to make her his Empress. But the Empress Dowager, unaware of Wan Qiqi’s true identity, fiercely opposed the match, insisting the throne belonged to the Crown Prince’s birth mother. Amid the turmoil, the scheming daughter of the Chancellor, Xu Baoze, manipulated the Empress Dowager into delivering an abortion draught to Wan Qiqi—now pregnant with the Emperor’s second child. In the nick of time, Wan Xiaobao launched a signal firework. Though the Empress Dowager rushed to intervene, Xiao Jingyu arrived first, again missing the chance to learn Wan Qiqi was the mother he’d sought. As the Emperor prepared their wedding and the Empress Dowager orchestrated the Crown Prince’s official homecoming, Wan Qiqi, torn between love and duty, attempted to sever ties with Xiao Jingyu for her son’s sake. But Xu Baoze’s final ambush left her near death—until the Emperor and Empress Dowager joined forces to save her. With the truth unveiled at last, the family embraced their long-awaited reunion.
