お嬢様の顧雲舒（グー・ユンシュー）は、家に引き取られた七人の奨学生たちと兄妹のように育った。だが三年前、運転手の娘の姜笑笑（ジャン・ショウショウ）が現れてから状況が一変する。姜笑笑の陰湿な中傷や策略により、七人の奨学生たちは次第に顧雲舒に嫌悪感を抱くようになった。そしてある日、顧雲舒は自分が大切にしてきた七人が、姜笑笑の前でひざまずき、彼女へ想いを告白している姿を目撃してしまう――絶望した顧雲舒は、七人全員との縁を断つことを決意。一か月後の自分の誕生日パーティーで、京（ジン）市の名家の謝家の跡取りであり、下半身不随の青年謝燼（シエ・ジン）と結婚することを発表する。やがて真実を知った七人の奨学生たちは、自分たちの愚かさに深く後悔するのだった。
