莫婉(モー・ワン)は父の治療費を工面するため、長年密かに想い続けてきた司家の後継者・司琛(スー・チェン)と、三年間の「契約恋人」関係を結ぶ。 しかし司琛は、莫婉を金目当ての女だと誤解し、愛と憎しみの間で彼女に冷たい態度を取る。一方、莫婉は共に過ごすうちに次第に本当の想いを募らせていく。 契約終了を目前にしたある日、莫婉は自分の妊娠に気づくが、同時に司琛が婚約するという知らせを耳にする。さらに司琛の祖母と婚約者・雲璐璐(ユン・ルールー)からの脅迫、そして彼女を守るために真実を隠し続ける司琛の態度が誤解を生み、莫婉は身ごもったまま彼の元を去る決意をする。 それから九年後。息子・球ちゃんをきっかけに、二人は思いがけず再会する。司琛は、莫婉がすでに結婚し子どもを持つ母だと思い込み、深く傷つくが、彼女が今も独身であることを知る。やがて司琛は、九年前の真実を一つずつ明らかにし、二人の間に横たわっていたすべての誤解が解けていく。 そして司琛は莫婉にプロポーズし、二人は結婚式を挙げ、息子とともに新たな幸せな人生を歩み始める。
