About The South Ocean
On a backward and isolated island, a simple mother, plagued by chronic illness, sees her husband and son go out to sea to work and earn money for her medicine. After the son sets sail, he encounters pirates, and the mother is devastated by the bad news. The villagers, believing her to be a harbinger of bad luck, begin to bully and suppress her. On the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, when the villagers are about to sacrifice her to the sea, the son returns with a powerful fleet, and a fantastical journey slowly unfolds.
