About The Lost Heiress Returns
Twenty‑two years ago, Mrs. Shen suffered severe hemorrhage during childbirth. Her mother‑in‑law, Grandma Shen, obsessed with having a male heir, refused to allow blood transfusion, costing Mrs. Shen her life. Deeming the newborn baby girl a “burden”, Grandma Shen sold her to human traffickers. The traffickers abandoned the frail infant by the roadside. A mute cleaner Wang Huilan found the girl, named her Qiao Zhizhi, and raised her through hardship. Twenty‑two years later, Qiao Zhizhi, a brilliant design prodigy with outstanding academic records, joins the design department of the Shen Group. Her talent arouses the jealousy of the dissolute second young master Shen Yu. He steals her design award, while his followers Lin Churan and Wang Linlin bully her relentlessly at work. Shen Yu forces her to kneel for an apology, publicly humiliates her mute adoptive mother at the annual gala, and even sets dogs on her, compelling her to race against hounds for a ball. Amid the conflict, Qiao Zhizhi notices the family portrait carried by Mr. Shen, which bears striking similarities to the torn photo left by her adoptive mother. Protected kindly by the eldest brother Shen Ming, she begins to question her true origin. Yet when she plucks up courage to suggest she might be the Shen family’s daughter, she is harshly mocked by Mr. Shen and Shen Yu, who accuse her of craving wealth and status.
