About Food Rules the World

Su Xiaofu, a modern R&D director for a national restaurant chain, dies from overwork and transmigrates into the Great Yan Dynasty. She awakens as Consort Su—a woman demoted to the Cold Palace on false charges of poisoning at the imperial Longevity Banquet, who was destined to die of illness in obscurity. Trapped in despair, she binds with the Divine Chef System. Backed by her professional culinary expertise from her past life and the system’s boosts, she launches her counterattack in the resource-starved Cold Palace. She tills wasteland to grow ingredients, uses broken tiles as pots and porcelain shards as knives, and transforms wild vegetables and tree roots into exquisite dishes. She gradually wins the loyalty of low-ranking palace staff, including maid Xiao Cui and eunuch Xiao Dezi. Through word of mouth, her Cold Palace delicacies quietly gain fame across the entire imperial court. As her reputation grows, she faces relentless pushback: Eunuch Pang, head of the Imperial Kitchen, tries to suppress her, and the Empress repeatedly plots against her. Su Xiaofu turns food into her weapon and wit into her shield, outmaneuvering every scheme. She wins over the picky Consort De with crab meat soup dumplings, leaves Eunuch Pang thoroughly impressed with spicy sour noodles, and wins the Emperor’s full favor with a simple plate of tomato and egg stir-fry. When framed for poisoning yet again, she uses her “Diners’ Inner Voices” skill to force the real culprit to confess on the spot. Step by step, she breaks free of the Cold Palace, is appointed Imperial Head Chef, and is granted the rare honor of attending court with a ceremonial blade. After taking charge of the Imperial Kitchen, she rolls out standardized workflows and kitchen regulations, fixes long-standing corrupt practices, and drastically improves both food quality and efficiency. At the grand Longevity Banquet, she stuns the entire court with the long-lost legendary dish Dragon Liver and Phoenix Marrow, publicly clearing her name of the two-year-old false accusation.
