ジョウウンはゾンユウコクと結婚した後、妊娠中にもかかわらず、ゾンユウコクは彼女を残して軍営に戻っていった。 それから七年、ジョウウンは息子のゾンシャオフーのために、軍営へゾンユウコクを訪ねに行くことを決意した。 しかし軍営では、ゾンユウコクはすでにショウダイニャンの娘・カホウカと再婚していた。 そしてゾンシャオフーは、ショウダイニャンとカホウカの手によって命を奪われた。 ゾンユウコクは、ジョウウンの父である司令官に取り入るために、ショウダイニャンを殺害。 その後、カホウカはゾンユウコクを刺し殺し、自ら命を絶った。 ジョウウンは深い悔しみを抱えたまま、息子を静かに埋葬した――
