結婚を目前にした姜霧は、七年間愛し続けた婚約者・陸明霄が阮思雨と浮気している現場を目撃する。さらに二人が結婚式の日に自分を傷つけようと企てていることを知ってしまう。身ごもっていた霧は心に深い傷を負いながらも、明霄がただ姜家の権力を欲しているだけだと気づく。彼女は密かに証拠を集め、隠されていた二人の関係を証明するDNA鑑定書を手に入れる。その後、霧は忍耐強く計画を進め、結婚式の場で真実を暴露し、明霄と思雨を社会的に抹殺する。その過程で霧は子供を失うが、ずっと密かに彼女を想い続けていた許景川と運命的な再会を果たす。霧は過去から解放され、景川の支えによって少しずつ傷を癒やしていく。一年後、二人は結婚式を挙げ、新たな人生を歩み始めるのだった。
