女主人公姜遥（ジアン ヤオ）は家族全員に尽くしたが、養妹の姜明珠（ジアン ミンジュー）には到底敵わず、得られたのは家族の冷たい無視と偏見だけだった。まるで外部の人間のように扱われ、いじめられ、ついには家族から追い出され、最終的に養妹姜明珠に命を奪われてしまう。この瞬間、姜遥は家族に対して完全に絶望し、過去に戻った後、姜遥は家族との関係を断ち切り、養父母の元へ戻ることを決意する。しかし、姜遥が去った後、長男の姜之珩（ジアン ジーホン）は初めて、彼女がこれまで受けてきた苦痛に気づいてしまった。
