ショウペイチェンとキョウシイは結婚していたが、ショウペイチェンの愛情はキョウシイの障害のある妹に向いていた。キョウシイはスウキンの罠にはまり、ショウペイチェンによって罪に問われる状況に陥った。同じ頃、キョウシイの妹が湖に突き落とされ、溺死するという事件が発生。ショウペイチェンもキョウシイに責任があると信じていた。キョウシイが妊娠しても、ショウペイチェンは自分の子だと信じようとせず、離婚を主張した。キョウシイが出産した日、スウキンは彼女を辱めに来て、赤ん坊を無理やり取り上げ、キョウシイの腎臓をひとつ摘出し、刑務所に放り込んだ。そしてスウキンは、すべてはショウペイチェンが仕組んだことだと明かした。刑務所でキョウシイは執拗な虐待に苦しんだ。5年後、謎めいた同房者が現れ、彼女と取引をした。出所後、キョウシイとショウペイチェンは複雑な関係に巻き込まれ、すべてがスウキンの綿密に練られた陰謀の一部であることが次第に明らかになっていく。キョウシイと同房者との過去の取引に関する真実も表面化し始めた。
