秦グループの後継者・秦悦は、身分を隠し、母親とさえ対立しながら、無一文の恋人・趙磊と結婚するために全てを捨てた。妊娠十月を経て胎位不正となった彼女が私立病院で出産準備をしていた時、趙磊の「兄弟」である徐艶は、「秦悦はただのわがまま、虚栄心を満たすためだ」と吹き込んだ。 趙磊はその言葉に惑わされ、秦悦を小さな病院に転院させようとし、二人の間の対立は激化していった。その時、秦峯は娘の出産の知らせを受け、厚礼を持って現れる。しかし趙磊と徐艶は彼を疑い、嘲り続けた。 しかし、湊都で名を轟かせている金、華、黄の三人の社長（いずれも秦峯に取り入ろうと駆けつけた）の証言により、趙磊たちはようやく秦峯の正体を信じた。だが、時すでに遅く、秦悦は流産し、離婚を選択していた。 後悔した趙磊は逆上し、「子供は秦悦とその父親によって殺された」と嘘の情報を流し、ネットで炎上させた。しかし、秦峯は強硬に反撃し、証拠を集めて警察に通報。最終的に、趙磊と徐艶は罪に問われ、刑に服することになった。
