宋時微（ソン・シーウェイ）の夫、傅景年（フー・ジンニェン）は双子の兄・傅宴安（フー・イエンアン）と共に戦場へ向かうが、 傅宴安は、弟である傅景年を守るために命を落とした。 傅景年は兄の遺言を守るため、義理の姉を守るべく、兄になりすまし、真実を妻の宋時微を告げることなく、義姉に子供を授かせるまでその関係を続けようとする。 しかし、宋時微は傅景年を忠実に待ち続け、たとえ遊郭に売られて七日七夜も吊るされても、彼を信じ続けた。けれども、傅景年は自分の秘密が完全に隠せると思っていたが、宋時微は偶然にもその真実を知ってしまう。
