温殊が夫のもとを訪ねたその日、偶然にも夫の秘書・蘇可音が健康診断の結果、病気だということを知った。そのことを夫に伝えようと思ったが、オフィスの中から聞こえたのは、どこか親密な声だった。そう――夫はすでに秘書と男女の仲だったのだ。温殊を折れさせるために、彼は秘書に千万円クラスのジュエリーを贈り、上流階級のパーティーにも同伴させ、正妻である温殊の面目を踏みにじった。オークションの日、一本の抑制剤が出品される。温殊はそれを落札しようとするが、夫は彼女が病気を患っていると誤解し、侮辱の言葉を浴びせ、目の前で抑制剤を叩き壊し、彼女が病気だと決めつけた。だが次の瞬間、温殊はある健康診断の結果を取り出し、微笑んだ。「おかしいわね。病気なのは、蘇秘書の方じゃなかったかしら？」
