七年前の雨の夜、沈語(しん ご)は時(じ)家のために男女の双子を産んだ。しかし分娩室で、生まれたばかりの時家の長孫、時南風(じ なんぷう)を救うため、無理やり採血されてしまう。夫の時律(じ りつ)が駆けつけた時、そこにあったのは白い布を被せられた遺体と、血のついた一枚のお守りだけだった。七年後、沈語は記憶と声を失い、廃品回収で生計を立てながら娘の沈小乖(しん しょうかい)を育てていた。運命のいたずらか、小乖は時南風のクラスメイトになる。一編の「お母さん」という作文がきっかけで衝突が起き、沈語は娘を守るために飛び降りて重傷を負う。小乖は院長である時律の前にひざまずき、泣きながら懇願する。「おじさん、お願い…ママを助けて」
