財閥家に婿入りしたエリート、イム・ドユン。彼は義父母の会社を必死に支え、誰よりも家族のために尽くしてきた。だが妻であるカン・ウニにとって、彼はただの“寄生虫”であり、自分の自由を縛る邪魔者でしかなかった。ウニは大学時代の初恋相手、張泰勲と再び惹かれ合い、夫を見下しながら華やかな自由を夢見る。そんな中、ウニの両親が交通事故に遭い、生死の境をさまよう。唯一手術できるのは医師であるウニだけ。ドユンは必死に助けを求めるが、ウニはそれを夫の嘘だと決めつけ、ゴルフ場で笑い続ける。さらに彼女は、両親の命をつなぐ手術同意書さえ破り捨ててしまう。その結果、両親は帰らぬ人となり、ドユンの中で最後の情も完全に消えた。葬儀場でなお反省せず、夫を無一文で追い出そうとするウニに、ドユンはついに冷たい本性を現す。すべての真実が暴かれる中、ウニが信じていた“自由”は、初恋男が仕掛けた巨大な詐欺だったことが明らかになる。尽くしてくれた夫を踏みにじった財閥令嬢は、自ら選んだ自由の果てで、最も残酷な代償を払うことになる——。
