黒崎奏恵は亡くなった後、自分が実は恋愛小説の中で「妊娠したまま逃げ、若くして亡くなった」男主人公の初恋の人だったことを知る。また、彼女の子供たちである黒崎悠真と古賀花音は、ヒロインの子供たちの踏み台という役割を背負わされていた。息子の悠真は家族に見捨てられ、不良として街をさまよう生活を送る。学業優秀なヒロインの息子と同じ女の子を好きになり、結果として周囲の笑いものにされ、最終的には道を踏み外して刑務所に入れられてしまう。娘の花音は幼少期から母親の愛情を知らず、性格は内向的で周りから好かれなかった。ヒロインの完璧な娘とオーケストラのコンサートマスターの座を争ったが、事故で手を壊し、精神を病んでしまい、最終的には家族からも見放されてしまう。物語の結末では、ヒロインが奏恵の代わりに男主人公の心を掴み、ヒロインの優秀な子供たちは男主人公の家族に受け入れられ、一家は幸せな人生を送ることになる。
