デンシュウランとヨウシンカは幼い頃、ヨウシンカの母デンシュウランに生まれたばかりの息子を連れ去られ、離れ離れになった。デンシュウランはヨウシンカを見つけたが、コウシュウバイは息子が死に、夫に新しい恋人ができたと騙して彼女を追い払った。それから18年後、デンシュウランは夫と息子に再会するが、最初は互いが誰だかわからなかった。ようやくお互いを認識したデンシュウランは、ヨウシンカが別の女性と付き合っていて、息子もその新しい恋人との子供だと勘違いした。さまざまな誤解や運命のいたずらにもかかわらず、家族は最終的に再会した。
