陽菜の父は妻を心底愛していたが、ある交通事故が妊娠中の妻が亡くなった。最期に、彼に後ろめたさを感じさせまいと、妻は姑に真相を秘密にするよう願った。記憶を失った父は、妻の死を「陽菜を産んだため」と誤解し、実の娘を忌み嫌う。彼は六年後、亡き妻にそっくりの孤児を見つけ養女にしようとする。 陽菜は、父が自分の戸籍を祖母のままにしていることを不思議に思っていたが、ついに父の本音を耳にしてしまう、「彼女への優しさは、全て養女を迎えるための練習だった」傷心の陽菜は養子縁組協議書にサインし、三日後に新たな家族の元へ旅立つことを決める。それすら知らず、戸籍の問題で父は自分に取り入ろうとしていると勘違いする。陽菜は、もうパパとの別れを選んでいた。
