My Croc Only Wants One Master starts with Elena expecting a gentle Merfolk and receiving a very different visitor: Twelve, a black-scaled shifter with a dangerous history. She takes him in, and their growing bond is interrupted when Silas, the Merfolk she originally expected, arrives a month later. The revelation that Twelve escaped from an experiment adds an external pursuit to the romantic tension. Choose this English-language ShortMax entry for a supernatural household disrupted by a second arrival, concealed identity, and competing attachments. The available synopsis establishes the characters and the approaching danger but stops before their confrontation is resolved, so it does not support a claim about whom Elena ultimately chooses.
